Base motion sprite designs for the battle parts of a game concept design project. I made the main character and the basic minions into a pixel art style.

About

I made the base motion battle sprites for a game concept of a group project. I focused on visual clarity and consistent art style.

Planning: I started by taking into consideration the world stages and its attributes before creating the minions. Then, I gathered many references similar to the minions we had planned to have, also for the art style and the sprite design.

Illustrating: I did a lot of different sketches before deciding on the final pose to go with, then I outlined the selected sketches and rendered them as well. I used a smaller canvas size to make the art pixelated.
